Have Pardus any plans for this in the future or are involved it in any way to implement that in Pardus to?
Would be more easy to install programs that are not already in the repo.

Yes - make everything uniform and easily marketable - and call it WinLin. Or, LinWin.

I have an idea - let's just .gzip tar files and use Slackware's pkgtool to install them.

Kurumsal2 has less than 1000 packages in the repo. Debian has over 29,000 packages available.
Stuff likes this makes me absolutely love Kurumsal2 - and  Slackware.

There is nothing wrong with Pisi. And, the Slackware package system is so simple, efficient and neat it is obviously not going to be used cause it isn't Windows-y enough.

The apparent goal is to have a system loaded with binaries from all over the planet - just like Windows and Windows apps. And, they will be sold in the Software Store.

I hope they will think about this issue.
If Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Mageia and some others will have a "App store" installed by default they will make the other distributions obsolete over a night.
Will be interesting to see if they got a final solution for Ubuntu 11.10 when it be ready.

But a strange choice of name. Nothing to do with software, applications or apps. Why not just plain and simple call it Ubuntu software center, Ubuntu app store or something similar.
Not many search for the word "humanity stacks" in Google if they want to install programs in Ubuntu.

About the request no developer have respond. I think they atleast could write if they think it's a good or bad idea. Make some kind of note or something.

Having read the recent article by the manager of Pardus, I suggest with all kindness that they cannot fulfill every request you make.

If a UI is forthcoming from the Gang of Four, the Pardus Team can make a decision then. There is no guarantee that a UI will be forthcoming.

The Pardus team has a manpower shortage because funding has been cut from 2006/2007 levels. They simply lack the time to churn out packages that one or two folk request. I am sure that they are not deliberately ignoring you, but simply are very busy. I think you must understand that Pardus is not one of the Buntus or openSUSE or Fedora. It is an extension of the Turkish government. You also seem to lack the knowledge that most distro devs do not frequent their distro forums.

Currently, that region has monumental tensions which affect the Republic of Turkey. Linux development might be down near the bottom of the government's long list of "to-dos" and funding priorities.

Pardus is a remarkable distro, at the very top for reliability, stability, professionalism of the development team. There is no distro that surpasses Pardus in that respect. Everything they have done, the direction they have taken with packaging and ease of use show remarkable innovation yet the product is obviously GNU/Linux.

You might consider purchasing a Mac. The new OS X lion has an app store. See here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/app-store.html

OS X is a tweaked BSD (Unix) and if you look carefully at the link you'll see that the app store has free and for-sale apps.

No need to wait for the Linux version. OS X Lion and the Apple app store is here now.

I not ask them to fulfill all of my request and ideas, and I can understand if some be rejected to and would accept that.
But it would be nice if they would respond in any way atleast. If negative then close the bug/request or positive continue with it.

About the Pardus budget I think they would get more money?

"We have just released 2009.2 Geronticus eremita last week, being named after the rare bald ibis. Our next release in the 2000-series will be Pardus 2011, which will be available in December 2010. We are planning to stick to annual major releases and quarterly update releases.

With more money coming from the government we are hiring new people. We plan to have more than 40 by the end of 2010 and at least 50 by the end of 2011. This is a sizable growth, considering we are 20 right now."

Of course Pardus is improving.

They are now recovering from earlier peresonnel cuts, but the "dream team" pf 2006/2007 has gone. Naturally, they have the top devs now available but they are playing catch up I think.

But the UI project is something they do not need to devote resources to, as it will take care of itself.

It was a interesting article. Maybe they should try to involve the Pardus community more (like the German Pardus group that contribute a lot for example). And some way to give donations like this:

Then they maybe would not be so depended on goverment fundings. Anyway I hope for the best.

I agree especially on this comment from the article:

I think it's important to try to have a large userbase and make it grow. If they had tryed to do more promotion and get attention in many ways they probably should have been in a better place in the long run. Most user find Pardus by accident or by chance.
