Being new to Linux I have much to learn.
Sometimes my questions seem almost too basic to ask anyone about.
When something is clear it seems simple but until then it can be very evasive.
In Windows I had a clear understanding of where files would be located whenever a new program was installed.
Not the case for me with Linux.
I still do not understand the basic layout of Pardus.
Is there a good tutorial that someone might suggest?
I don't want to trouble others with simple questions but I still do not know what to expect when I install a new program. I have difficulty locating what I would normally call the "exe" or execution files for programs (I realize that Linux does not use "exe" files). Does the Pardus directory structure differ in any important way from the common Linux directory structure?
Another challenge for me that would be simple for those with experience is how to view other Linux installs on my computer. These may be located on different partitions or possibly a different hard drive. I can view my windows installs in Dolphin with no problem but my other Linux installs do not show up and it still escapes me as to what I need to do to view them. I know it has to be so simple that this makes others smile or maybe even laugh but for me it's more like .....duh.
Any links to other posts or suggestions for good help files on these things and many others like them would be helpful.
