I don't have .exe file (I never heard of this in a Linux environment)
However I do have a setup file in the downloaded Linux.zip.

setup has (3 times) the x property and is thus an executable file....
And after a

The only problem I see with my version is:

Installing software...
tar: A lone zero block at 1600
Updating file permissions...
Running post-install commands...
Installation is complete.

And my checksum is:

Maybe yours has a different sha1sum
