I feel like such a nOOb, trying to compile , but I keep running into missing components ( no stdio.h is the last one).
The last time I went to upgrade , I got a "libpng dependency missing " error.could anyone make a suggestion to cure this?

thank you

From one newbie to another... Shocked
Need more input.  What are you trying to compile and did you install the basic build essential files?  How-to here
Maybe you can post relevant part of configuration log.

Hya Lisa

Trying to compile a program called Enna , to build on the elementary build of Enlightenment.
the question above was based on the incomplete compiling envoirement I was getting. However , following the suggestion of pcdomain I added Pardus Corporate , and got my complire envirement from there, so I think THAT problem is SOLVED.

However , not being a genius , I WILL read the howto you give me.
By configuration log , do you mean the log generated by the build process ( for warnings , errors , and all other oopies )?

Addendum
I see my error now , I didn't use the "-c" switch, D'OH

SOLVED

I'm running pardus 2011.2_32.
This means you should only have the repo´s for P2011 enabled.
And when you have the latest updates installed, it´s always P2011.2.
That´s the reason I always refer to it as P2011.

.....of pcdomain
What´s this ^^^

.... not being a genius ....
This ^^^ also applies to me and I only like to

No worries, anglophony, as when I first gave the command to install build essential development packages, I put c- instead of -c.

And once again, I learn something new.  I've never seen that person's wiki.  You must be referring to this page where mentioned about similar base between Corporate and Pardus regular.  And, he or she has his own repo.  I'll have to check it out, though there be only a few packages there.  See, I wouldn't have known this if you did not have compiling problems.   Smiley

And yes, I did refer to the configuration log.  It can be lengthy, which is why I mentioned the relavant (errors) part.  Seeing you needed a header file, I figured you didn't have all the complete build essential packages.

Hi again!
Correct , the page you refer to IS the one I worked from.
And his "a few " is a lot more than two.
I am sure I picked up his site information from here , but after two or three days of just reading THIS site , I can't tell you for sure where I had seen it.

Now , when I make a trial run , it runs to completion, but I need to provide the source code of other packages before I can even think of running a "make", but this is the fun of figuring out what to do, it mostly all a game for me.
Lets see where ELSE I hang up............:-D
