What happend with the nice Pardus figures? I can not see them at the new website:
http://www.pardususer.de/lib/images/pardus_schild.png
http://tr.pardus-wiki.org/images/4/49/Kaptan_welcome.png

Especially the "Pardus cat" are a brand that should be used as the "Pardus brand"
http://galerie.pardususer.de/displayimage.php?album=7&pid=170#top_display_media

If you see this symbol you know what distribution it is:
http://design.canonical.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/cof_orange_hex1.png

But this at first page. Some blurred symbols who could be just anything..
I think they should use the nice logo more and make it more visible.

There are some other Pardus stuff at the net:
http://www.pardus.at/
http://pardus.de/
http://pardus.rukh.de/
(Would  Pardus be like Apple they probably would have respond to it)

So just by open the official Pardus website you should be able for just one second to the see what it is.
Now you must read some time to know, could be a computer related business of some kind at first sight:
http://www.pardus.org.tr/en/

The information itself inside the site are okay.

Look at some others:
http://www.mandriva.com/en/
http://linuxmint.com/
http://www.mageia.org/en/

No doubt there what it is, logo on the first page thats open.

I would like to see this logo when I click at the Pardus address. Smiley
http://cekirdek.pardus.org.tr/~umut/pardus-logo/pardus-tescil.png

Or it just says "Pardus-Linux" with the logo.

I add a comment on this here:

# Bug 19326

This is from the case study of Pardus:

Lessons learned

With releases featuring Pardus 2008.1, 2008, 2007.3, 2007.2, 2007.1, 2007, and Pardus 1.0, the Pardus project has learnt what it means to have a GNU/Linux distribution, what it means to collaborate with a diverse group of developers dispersed all over the word, and how to prepare a product to meet the needs of less technically skilled users. The most important lessons to be learnt from the Pardus project are summarized by the project director as follows:

Patience: If you are developing open source software or building and distributing a distribution one needs to be patient. Good work takes time! This is true for technical know-how building, product stabilization, process optimization, community involvement, and common awareness. If you rush things you usually end up worse than a more “relaxed” approach.

Opening up. Your license, your development methodology, your decision making process, and anything having to do with the project... have to be open. Otherwise you will not attract outsiders as developers, nor as users. Opening up does not guarantee a healthy community by itself, but is necessary.

Branding: And you should not forget about brand building and protection. Using GNU GPL you are somewhat “giving away” your intellectual property, and your brand is the only that you have. In order to have a healthy quality perception, competitive business partners and growing ecosystem you have to have a strong brand and protect it.

Well..new website is a nice try, BUT I find it to be a bit....bland and boring. OTOH, since the standard Pardus install is kind of bland/gray, I can understand some why they would make the site shades of gray as well....

I also agree that the logo for the software should be clear and present on the front page and each page thereafter. My concern is the logo is starting to look a little dated and....primitive.  Instead of face on, how about a roaring lion head in profile, fading to the body.....THAT could easily be animated for install final boot splash, etc.....The thick outline currently makes it look too simple/primitive, I think.

The Turkish community website looks better. A new logo after a competition there:
http://www.ozgurlukicin.com/

(Blue flower up at the left.)

I don't know if they do the new official website "in the house" all themselves.
But sometimes maybe it's better to let some other do it. With graphic skilful people etc..
Looks more like a blog of somekind, even if the information itself are okay.

Tubitaks (who created Pardus) own website looks very professional to:
http://www.tubitak.gov.tr/en/ot/10/

I agree that a new logo would be nice. The cartoon figures maybe are outdated. Smiley

If look of some of the wallpapers there are skilful people out there:

@john a
do you think it's possible that they inform all (major)pardus forums about changes in/on the pardus website?

especially changes in download paths are important on the different forums. but also for third parties who are linking to pardus on their own websites.

btw. personally like your first link best. i know: old school... Embarrassed
