Pardus got this licence:
License:
All products developed by TÜBİTAK/BİLGEM released under terms of 2nd generation General Public License (GPL v2). Pardus compiles a number of free softwares as well. You may find all the licenses at source repository.
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.htmlSo I suppose it could be a fork if someone want to do one. PCLinuxOS and Mageia was developed from Mandriva.
Anyway best to wait for a official announcement what will happend.
Yes, Pardus can be forked. But look at Slackware. #16. Based on ... nothing

Like Pardus.
We will wait, but we want managers of Pardus project to find out about us.
So, until official announcement will happen, we will promote Pardus.
May be at weekend our team will show a new site of russian community.
And yes, everything is simple (if you have a team):
Promotion (in internet + in real) + more packages + bugfixing.
In Russia we will promote as much as we can.
