How many Pardus users?

I wonder how many people using Pardus worldwide?

valt mij regelmatig op dat er zomaar 40 bezoekers zijn in het Worldforum

It says that there are around 40 visitors on the Worldforum daily.

The dutch forum has 189 members
This forum has 672 members

And how do we get more members?

I dont think it's possible to get more Pardus users until we know if it only be a Corporate version in the future. Maybe a Pardus 2012 for home users etc..
Or worst case scenario no Pardus at all.
Tubitak most write some kind of official statement what they want to do with this Linux distribution.
And also maintain the current 2011.2 version with updates. Like the new Firefox 9:

Until then I am afraid the user base with Pardus will decline.
At this moment at place 47 on Distrowatch.

The last real message at the official mailing list was in december:

After that message it's seems to only be spam there "Rolex today" noncence messages.

I know that there are rumours but ...

- Why are a remarkable number of developers left the project?
- Why are the working wheels are about to stop?

We must wait and see hwo Pardus come out of this, but i not believe it comes out
as it was before. You not drop developers if you got big plans with something.

So maybe it just will be a corporate version and the rest will be given to the community.

The best way is just to give information form the official way. Every little bit of information
will be enough.

Why have we need to wait that long? If they already restructure for m ore then 3 months?

And spam on your official mailing list? That are not very good signs.

I hope they make a good descision, because Pardus is a very special kind of distro.

 I'm of the opinion that the best thing to do is to continue using Pardus if you like using it.
I've seen your website, you are obviously capable, maybe even start your own repository .
It wouldn't be the first time that users have taken a distro in directions the originators had not planned on .
For now , I for one will wait

Pardusworld.com was new to me. I think the problem are about confidence/trust among ordinary users.
If they will have a restruction process for 3 months without any official information it's not good:

So we try to find out what happend at un-official sources.
Even before this process Pardus was kind of slow with updates for never version of Firefox, program request, bug fixes etc..
(still struggling with issues to implement Firefox 7  to the stabile repository when all the other distributions alredy have gone over to Firefox 8 for example)

So with their limited resources 3 months would feel like a eternity.

Will they be able to keep up the progress and catch up the other distributions when they will start up again, when so many of the best developers have gone to other jobs and so on? Or will it be a obsolete product?

With so few people maybe the only solution would be to use LSB (Linux Standard Base) to 100 %?

But thats another subject, and will not be solved here and now.

Anyway I will wait to, see what happends with Pardus and hope for the best.

Oh .. and is nobody from the Parus team read this Forum? There must be someone
of the team who read this forum, and just give a little bit more information.

And an other question: if the worst scenario is coming out, they will stop with Pardus, who
of this forum will continue using Pardus? In other words, who will help to keep the Pardus alive?

So let 2012 be the year of keep the Pardus alive.

I like Pardus because it's one of the few Linux distributions who "works out of the box"
With pre-installed codecs for DVD.s etc..Not so much work with the terminal and command lines.
Userfriendly.

So I hope for all of us it be continued in 2012.
