Hi everyone,

I like to build pisi packages for Pardus and i wonder what is the best way?
Is it enough to only give the buildfiles (actions.py and pspec.xml)? If so then someone
else need to compile it again.

I only have a x64 install of Pardus, but i can also install Pardus x86 in a virtualbox so
i also can compile x64 and x86 pisi packages.

Or can i have a playground place in one of the existing repos?

Just wonder what is the best way, because if i compile the packages already it is not
very usefull that someone else compile it again. Or is it?

Have a look at http://code.google.com/p/happy-kitty/. Anil Ozbek has done a great job regarding games on Pardus. The way he preferred is "emerging" packages. So he just keeps build files (ie. http://happy-kitty.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/game/action/balloonchase/)

Or you may directly send your compiled packages along with your build files to pardususer.de repo or pardus-linux.org repo, which are both unofficial community repos.

And here is my way of doing my for pardususer.de

I have a main Pardus which I do not use for building pacakges.
This ^^^ is only used for storing the build files and uploading to pardususer.de
On the same disk I have 2 additional partitions, both ~20GB (for i686=sda8 and for x86_64=sda9).
In /boot /grub/menu.lst of main Pardus there is:
Quote
title Pardus 2011 32 sda8
root (hd0,7)
configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst

title Pardus 2011 64 sda9
root (hd0,8)
configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst
All use
Quote
atolboo@pardus2011 ~ $ pisi lr
pardus [actief]
   http://packages.pardus.org.tr/pardus/2011.2/stable/......./pisi-index.xml.xz
pardususer.de [actief]
   http://pakete.pardususer.de/pardus-2011/......../pisi-index.xml.xz

My system for building is Pardus-(i686>sda8 and x86_64>sda9)+ all updates + Installing build essentials + (very handy >> pisido+pisiyap+kde-servicemenu-pisiyap+pisi-developer-tools)
My system for testing is Pardus-(i686>sda8 and x86_64>sda9)+ all updates.

And because my favorite position is .............

I have a small USB device with Parted Magic + a number (4) scripts on the desktop.
2 of them to save Pardus-for-building and Pardus-for-testing in 2x 2 minutes to 2x image on Pardus-main/home/partimag.
2 of them to retrieve Pardus-for-building and Pardus-for-testing in 2x 2.5 minutes from 2x image on Pardus-main/home/partimag.
In this way I can have a fresh build and testing system within ~6 minutes with the help of Clonezilla.

I hope this description is a little helpful Wink

Hey,

I am busy to setup a Pardus build repository the happy-kitty way.
There are only build-files inside this repository, so it is a repositroy that
download, build en install the packages.

If it is ready .. i give a big yell  Grin
