ROADMAP NEWS

After long talking on the facebook group and with some developers from the Anka group, there is finally the first simple roadmap for Anka.

- The Anka group started just with 2 man: pantera and kuftikufti (applause for these guys    ).
- And the situation is as follows:

• The Anka group focus now on the preperation of the root file system
• The Anka group create updates for all the packages that are now avaliable in Pardus

- This will result in a stable x64 and x86 repo that will be the base for new Pardus Anka ISO
- When all this is finished, the focus will be on the formation of a community http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index.php?topic=4390.0

For all translators, there's plenty of work by translating all the translations.xml files, for instructions look over here http://worldforum.pardus-linux.nl/index.php?topic=4378.0

But the coming time the focus is on making of meters!

1) COMMUNITY SETUP AND ROADMAP:

If the Anka group has stables repos (x86 and x64) and created the first Pardus Anka repo, it is
time to create the next roadmap and community. Before that time we (worldforum members)
need to look for volunteers for all the positions that are available on this https://docs.google.com/document/d/13zcSKA2wyKKbji7wh2_xWqpltFGchEZShXiVud7EI4c/edit list.

There are some reations back from the newsletter, but the truth is also that Pardus lost many members.

1) You (richdbd) should call for volunteers to be on the Endorsement Board ("EndoBe"). Tech-guys like yourself, kuftikufti, pantera, atoolbo, et. al. should be on EndoBe. Approximately 10-20 tech-guys worldwide. EndoBe should be officially formed in 1 (one) month approximately (end of July latest).

Every distro works with deathlines, so i think they are not that dangerous

P.S. How many Pardus users in the Netherlands? Approximately? Can you form an association there? Very simple association for now. Legal status is important to draw worldwide attraction.

The dutch forum has 189 members. Only 9 members logged in the last 20 days . Also here a lot of members run away or just are waiting for some new Pardus action

My opinion is that's important to have a i686 (test) repo as soon as possible

Well, generally it is far better to have something to aim for. And in the current particular case of Pardus, I think it is absolutely essential

I think a lot of people have just written Pardus off as too fragmented now, and with a lack of clear and substantial information/direction/leadership, no hope of survival. I think an established roadmap would really make a big difference.

International community will look at 2 things:
1) Who are the members of the Endorsement Board?
2) Are there any technical objections to the new Pardus announced by the Endorsement Board?

1) Good question Dirse, but the 'problem' is that the response I get back is almost minimal. But without agreements nobody can deliver a good job.
2) I think we need good python and kernel developers. I do not know them, but maybe someone else on the WorldForum

Even nine (9) people can be enough maybe? If you want to form an association in the Netherlands, can I become a member? Basic questions:
1) I am not a Dutch/EU citizen. I have only Turkish citizenship.
2) I don't live (reside, work, study, etc.) in the Netherlands. I don't have any property (asset) there.
Are these problems for me becoming a member to a Dutch association?

I send a mail to all the Dutch Forum Members. But till now no useful comments. And I have no experience with the founding of an association.

But my feeling is that Pardus already lost many users, and that is a bad sign.
