Hi all,

If we give Turkish name as "KIZILYILDIZ"  does it make problem?

It means red star. I suggest as KIZILYILDIZ what do you say? there is no linux distribution in Turkey.
"Red Star OS" is the name of the North Korean state linux distribution. I believe that many people would not like to have something to do with that. Even if it's translated to Turkish.

If a reference to the Turkish origin is wanted (and nobody comes up with a better one), how about "Bright Moon Linux"? At least you can google for it without finding a result Smiley

And if someone makes it up after today, we can claim PRIOR ART!

But most important now is the name and logo.

Phoenix: free as name??
Fenix: is already linux distro with that name
Funix: free as name?

I choose Phoenix then ..

But maybe there are more suggestions for a name.

I finally got logged in!!

I have been following this thread and your blogs about the subject of a name. Some of you (Rich and Dirse) have already heard from me. I feel really strongly about the name "Prometheus" because of the relationship the myth bears to what the community is trying to do. Specifically, we are taking something of value and giving it to the people.

My vote remains with Prometheus...that is, if we are voting!  Huh?

On another note, I would love to assist in translations to English (American) because I can't lend any help with development (skill sets).  I mean to say that I can assist with grammar/spelling because I can't speak Turkish. However, I can use some software to roughly translate and interpret the closest meaning.
