Nice p!  Yes, as atolboo says, a logo should be simple.  Other more intricate ones could be for wallpapers.  Picture the logo in the application launcher and you know why simple is easier to recognize.  I like the logo that pantera posted as it is easy to recognize, the black  and the shape.

I'm enjoying this and hope to see more creations.  I for one would have never tried to learn a bit more about using GIMP if it were not for this logo topic.

My attempt, but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the smaller black lines (fur features) and create a thick black outline.  I used a caracal photo image as a base.

P.S. P.S.  I was looking for the Pardus leopard .png in file manager to see how it was done and came across this really neat image created for lxde desktop.  Looking at it, I can imagine the top open area in the first letter A to be the eye of the leapord, and the right line of the A being the side of the nose line.  The left curve side of the A already looks like the side cheek area of the leopard.  I'll have to play with it in GIMP  But that is a nice image.  Yes, I also look at clouds and see images in them   Cheesy

I think that the more beautiful logo is something that remind a bird or a phoenix, like: http://cdn.overclock.net/a/ae/aed7b7c9_phoenix-tattoo-image.jpeg
or
http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs17/i/2007/219/8/4/Tribal_Phoenix_by_holymonkey.jpg
Also is nice this one: http://b1207.hizliresim.com/z/2/953gr.jpg (posted before from Beyazrenkler)
Another idea can be something like wings:

or
http://dolphindreams.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/angel_wings.jpg
These are just small ideas, I hope you enjoy them.

Yep, lots of choices, a good thing.

Hi daves.  I like especially holymonkey's Pheonix as I can see the eyes of the leopard in the lower part of the drawing.
Some of us have still been working on drawings. .  I didn't think I'd ever bother with something like this, but it was worth it getting to learn a bit about using GIMP and Mypaint. I found Mypaint easier to use with mouse freehand drawing, as the lines didn't come out jerky, especially the brush, Delayed, under the Ramon selection.
