I cleaned the whole disk. No partitions, nothing ..
Then in the install fase I created 3 partitions for /, /home and swap.
And the install goes fine then Smiley

Hope to see you aboard, anglo!

I thought wiki information was for final release?  But, there are no rules for what can be put in a wiki, on second thought.

It didn't install when I used existing partitions and I did not want to bother with editing the fstab file, so where the two partitions were on my second hard drive, I let the install>manual partitioning,  delete the two partitions which left one unallocated space.  Then selected the  'create partition' and chose similar sizes as to what was there originally, selected root on one partition and home on second partition/ext4.

Maybe I will make a wiki on fine-tuning dolphin.  I don't like how 'find' is under hidden menu as it is last on the list of toolbar.   So I edit toolbars and move it further up the list.   I make sure settings>show menubar.  Also, when doing a 'find' the output does not show 'path'.  After doing a search 'find' go to view>additional information>other>path.  But you probably already knew this, but I have only discovered this.  Roll Eyes

For me, the problems I have had is with the deletion of /var/run/ppp directory on reboot or start but I created a cron job for this. I think it has something to do with mudur init.
Also, digikam can only be run as root to grab the pictures from my camera.  Not sure if it is from policykit or udev or something else.
I get seg. faults/crash when I try to change some running process under system settings>startup and shutdown>service manager.  Otherwise, it is working well for an alpha.

Success , That was the ticket. There is implied the lack of a "logical volume manager" when I tried to mount a "LVM" partition..Now to put in a bug report for the lack of E 17 XD.
