OOPS , not so fixed thus not prime distro yet:
Accidently shut down using power switch on case = not coming back for anything. This morning, with modem on it gave KDE again so problem ~= fast start very sensitive to all changes. Trying upgrade of KDEbase.
As text root I activated some kdesktop thing in /etc/x11 for an error, hoping a reboot would work out. After it worked, I ditched kworldclock wallpaper from my kppp connected install w b2 theme. Also updated klibs. Changed the MEPIS 6.5 menu.lst on hda7 to just point to hda9 where the GRUB from Pardus takes over. reboots still working so Pardus 2007.1 is my new prime distro on my 440 bx box. See b.coston.googlepages.com for more  info fom my multi boot rig /s.
Now I need a better vm guest for my w98 legacies.
