Since i re-installed Firefox, i havent been able to play media, like streaming video.

I'm sure that i still have all the codecs, so it is a matter of teaching Firefox how to use them again.

I just don't have a clue how to do this. Any help or links to websites that show how to do this would be much appreciated.

How did you reinstall Firefox? Via Pisi?

Try deleting Firefox settings so it will recreate them.
* Go to your home folder
* View>Show Hidden Files
* Rename folder called .mozilla to .mozillabackup

thanks jnmbk for the answer.
the direcction is right but it does not funktion.

in other user-acoount i can play the videos.
i think the problem cames from deinstalling ATI driver? - i had some other problems since i did this. the other problems i recognized  are gone after plugging a nvidea card and installing nvidea driver.

if there is no solution - can i create a other acoount and rename this account after deleting the current acoount?

I don't know why you have an error but If there's no problem in another account, use it. You can copy kde configurations from your old account. It is kept in .kde directory. Login with new user and give root privileges, copy the directory from old account
Code:
# cp -R /home/oldaccount/.kde /home/newaccount

Code:
# chown -R newaccount:users /home/newaccount/.kde

Restart X and login

i did this procedure twice - and with other local user files for other programs e.G. "Desktop"-  to get my old name back.
....and i can play videos in FFox again.

i am not shure but this problems began whan i changed graficcard and deinstalled atidrivers with pisi, but im not shure. however.

thanks
