The newest kernel for the nvidia driver via the Pisi package manager will not work. I have to change my xorg file to say "nv" instead of "nvidia" otherwise X does not work. Is "nv" limited to low resolutions? I have a laptop running at 1920x1200 and the new driver worked when I had Pardus installed a week ago or so, but then I reformatted and this latest version does not seem to work at all. Anyway to fix this, or any place to download an older kernel?

Doesn't work. I try to install the Nvidia kernel, but I need kernel for my dependency even though I have it.

You need kernel-source.

Still doesn't work, says I still need kernel for dependencies.

If you run nvidia-xconfig as root it will do the configuration. You will need nvidia-tools package for that or nvidia-old-tools depending on your card.

I had everything and I ran nvidia-xconfig, but it only worked from building the package from source.
