This section is supposed to be knowledge sharing but I didn't find any other which corresponded to my question so...

As the title says all my trouble can be summed up very quickly : How do I build a PiSi package for a program I've made???

This one needs a update on how to create a pisi package. As it looks now, its hard to know what to fix everything.

I second that  Wink

It would be great to have a somewhat more "beginner friendly" packaging guide so that more people can try their hand at building pisi packages.

Anyone?

There are several sources to find more information about pisi, first you can take a look in the wiki:
http://en.pardus-wiki.org/Pisi_Package
Or download the Impress presentation made by Gorkem:
http://svn.pardus.org.tr/uludag/trunk/promotion/presentations/PardusGenel/introduction-to-pisi.odp

Have fun!
BTW what program did you make? Tell us where to download it Smiley

Gorkem's presentation is a great introduction to pisi but it doesn't really explain the ins and outs of package building.

I haven't built any packages myself so far, but I would like to. The thing is: it would be easier (and less time consuming...) if there would be more documentation available.  I'm not a linux newbie but the current wiki entry that you refer to throws me off  a bit.

I must admit I havent build a package myself, something I also would like to learn. And I share your opinion that the wiki entry is a but cryptic. Maybe we all can try, and update the wiki?

lets create a mob and hunt down Eren to update it  Grin
As he makes packages all the time  Cheesy

Just kidding, the biggest problem must be the section of action.py
pspec.xml file seems easier, its just take the one in the guide and change it. (will maybe work)

Nice plan Zinden  Wink

(But you're right: it would be great if someone who actually *builds* packages could find the time to update the wiki)

Are you having a go at it?

I'd love to learn how to build a package.  I'm still getting hung up on the action.py and pspec.xml.   Tongue

It certainly looks like there's great interest in learning how to build packages in the non-turkish speaking Pardus community  Smiley

Please make a Good/easy guide or app to make a pisi package.

I have now tried a damn many different distros and seems im allways back to Pardus.   Grin

Its just the most simple and easy to use distro. but there are not too much stuff in the repos so i wish me, and maybe some other ppl could make those packages too so everything could be found in Pisi.
And the latest versions of everything too.
